Blowing the shofar: A practice threatening Al-Aqsa Mosque

What was once a condemned and forbidden ritual has now become a recurring provocation inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Since the Israeli occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967, the shofar, a Jewish ritual horn, has been blown 11 times inside the Mosque, most recently on Sunday morning, with expectations of repetition during the coming days and the Hebrew New Year on September 23.
