Just hours before his martyrdom, Haneen sat gazing into her father’s eyes and noticed a distant look. She tried to ease his thoughts, saying: “By God, you won’t die except as a martyr, don’t worry.” She kissed his forehead, embraced him, and asked him not to be away from her for too long. But he turned his face in silence, as though his heart was bidding her farewell without words. She did not realize that moment would be their last meeting.
