US raid kills senior ISIS official near Syria’s border with Turkey

WASHINGTON — Forces affiliated with the US-led coalition to counter ISIS carried out a raid targeting a senior Islamic State official near Syria’s northwestern border with Turkey, Syrian state media reported.

A US official confirmed to Al-Monitor that the US military carried out the operation, but offered no further details.
