Israeli gov’t gives final okay to major plan splitting West Bank in two

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation government gave its final approval to a major settlement project in the occupied West Bank that would effectively cut the territory in two, and that rights groups say could torpedo any chance for a future Palestinian state.

Settlement expansion in E1, mostly an open tract of land east of Jerusalem, has been under Israeli consideration for more than two decades, but was frozen due to US pressure during previous administrations.
