The Palestine Athletics Federation said on Wednesday that international runner Allam Al-Amour was killed by Israeli army gunfire while trying to obtain a food parcel in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
In a post on Facebook, the federation mourned Al-Amour, “with deep sorrow and grief, the young man who ascended as a martyr,” noting that he was the bronze medalist in the 5,000-meter youth race at the West Asia Championship.
