Gaza famine: Children survive on dry bread, mothers weep out of helplessness

Inside a cramped tent in a camp west of Gaza City, 39-year-old Amina Khalil tries to comfort her three children, promising them their hunger will soon end.

But reality is harsher than words. Since losing her husband in an Israeli airstrike last year, her life has become a chain of daily struggles. The weight of providing for her family has become heavier than she can bear.

“My children go to bed hungry,” she says, her voice trembling as she fights back tears….
