In a tattered tent on the western outskirts of Gaza City, Sabah Ibrahim, a mother of five, sits sewing what remains of her son’s old clothes, the shoes he wears have no soles. She says in a sorrowful voice, “We’re not looking for new things, just something to cover us.”
This small scene sums up a much larger picture: a war of extermination now in its twenty-second month, leaving nothing behind, where even clothes and shoes have become a distant dream.
