Dr. Ahmed al-Farra, head of the Nasser Hospital’s pediatric department, has said that the number of deaths from progressive flaccid paralysis in the Gaza Strip has surged to five people, including four children and a 60-year-old woman.
In a statement on Wednesday, Dr. Farra said that the child, Mohamed Qudaih from Khan Yunis, died today after suffering from progressive flaccid paralysis, joining four others who recently died from the same disease.
