Waves of compassion: Nations’ apologies in bottles for the starving in Gaza

Just a few kilometers away, a small family sits on the beach of Sheikh Zuweid in Rafah, Egypt, filling bottles with grains. A little girl, Jannat Abdoun, holds a pen beside some papers, writing messages to include with the grains in each bottle before throwing them into the sea.

“From the children of Sinai to the children of Gaza… may they somehow reach them,” this is the message Jannat includes in her tiny bottles to Gaza’s residents, hoping the waves will carry…
