Israel launches airstrikes inside Iran, declares state of emergency

The Israeli air force conducted strikes inside Iran early Friday local time.

Explosions were reported in the Iranian capital Tehran early as Israel changed security guidelines for its citizens, declaring a state of emergency. 

Iranian media reported at around 3:30 a.m. local time (8:00 p.m. ET Thursday) that explosions were occurring in Tehran.
