University of Michigan Hired Private Investigators to Surveil Anti-Genocide Students: Report

According to the report, five students said the surveillance felt like a tactic to intimidate them. Some described being cursed at, threatened, and followed by car. In one case, a student had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

Many of these investigators appear to work for City Shield, a private security firm based in Detroit. Records show the university paid at least $800,000 to City Shield’s parent company, Ameri-Shield, between June 2023 and September 2024.
